Pin Cushion and Powder / Talcum Dispenser

This auction is for a lovely design made of French / Hygrade Ivory. Both are unusual pieces. The pin cushion is about 2 inches in diameter and marked " Torrence " on the top and " French Ivory " on the bottom. This would be interesting either for a souvenier collector, a sewing article / accessory collector or a vanity top item collector. The other item is an about 3.5 inches tall container that comes in two pieces that can be screwed together after a refill. It is ment for any kind of powder - likely talcum or a body or perfume powder. The bottom is marked " Hygrade Ivory ". So neither item is " real " ivory - both are early plastic reproductions.

Both items are in great condition - without any chips, cracks or repairs. They both bear the lovely light beige / ivory colour they are meant to have. Many French / Hygrade ivory pieces are available - but they are usually the servers, comb, brush etc. - it was unusual to find these two pieces.

 

As an estate and collectors item there is wear consistent with age and use.

2 Germany US War Zone 40's Crystal Perfume Cut Glass Scent Bottles.

Lots of describing here. Given for accuracy. The big picture is see the pictures they are beautiful. Condition is good used vintage. Having very miniscule nips on cut glass stoppers.

I am describing miniscule flaws seen with jewelers loup 10x magnification in direct sunlight for accurate description. I don't believe the described flaws on these bottles would be seen with the naked eye. They definitely do not detract from the beauty of the pieces. You do see the bubbles.

CONDITION: Bottle #1 Stopper One very miniscule nic on back flat edge side. Front cut side on edge bevels Top left point of cut a very miniscule nic, 2nd and 5th point each have miniscule nips. The entire stopper has small bubbles within. One place a little grouping of bubbles near the surface I think one of them broke thru and is now a teeny spec size pit. The end of the stopper has some roughness and flakes the size of a grain of sand. The cut flower is good. The bottle is good.

Bottle #2 This stopper has 2 points on the left cut side with miniscule nips plus 2 miniscule nips along the flat edge back. Size of a grain of sand. This stopper has four very light scratches on the back side. Lightly visible. Stopper end has a flake off the side that runs most of the length of it. That is the only really visible flaw and it is very minor. Bottle is good the cut flower is good.

Now all that said see the photos these bottles look beautiful. I found no flaws at all on the bottles. They could use a cleaning.

One bottle is a tiny bit taller than the other. The stoppers are the same size. One cut flower is a bit different. Leaves longer flower bigger? See measurements.

All measurements are aprox.. Done with a digital calliper

Stoppers: Same measure 3.79" tall x 1.77" wide x .38 + .40 thick one end insert is a bit thicker than the other. Each piece was carved from a separate piece of glass blank.

With the stopper in they are 5.24" and 5.21" tall

Bottles 2.10" tall 2.09" wide at the top widest part of the bottle

2.04" tall 2.08" wide

That's my best description of them. I am not a perfume bottle collector so I may not be best describing them for you please ask questions.

Vanity Collectable Prism Cut Glass / Crystal Perfume Bottle

Muti-faceted clear glass / crystal perfume bottle. A very collectible perfume bottle for your vanity. There is a noticable fracture on the ground glass stopper. There are two chips also on the stopper. There is a chip on the lip of the bottle. The pictures were taken to show the flaws/chips. The overall height is about 7.75 inches. The width is about 3.25 inches. The stopper length is 3 inches and width is 3.25 inches.

This Auction is for a Victorian Style Vanity Item, a Vintage Mirrored Perfume Dresser Tray with Resin Cameos. It has lovely Gold plated or painted Ornate Metal Work and one very detailed Hard resin or celluloid cameos on each side, it is stunning!  Measurements: (approximate to the nearest 1/16“)  18  3/4 " L by 9 " W by 1 1/2" H.  Condition: Good to Very Good Estate Condition, however there are a few imperfections and slight damages as follows:  there is a small scratch on the mirror face 5/8" L. The handles (made of soft pot metal from the WWI era) are a bit bendy and may not be perfectly symmetrical. there are several small scratches on the surfaces of the frame and the ornate gilded or gold toned coated areas where the gold is missing and the copper metal shows through, there are a few small brass nails or tacks missing from the metal frame that connects the brown felt backing, and there are some scratches in the felt. There is a small bent or dent on the LH side edge of the frame (see photo 12).  See photos for additional details. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. I am not an expert, but I do try to research and describe the items as best as I can. The photos should help in your decision. Please let me know if you need additional photos.
